Welcome to Curtis Mateus Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. These Terms of Service explain the rules for using our website, signing up for trial classes, and training at our gym. By using our website, submitting a form, or training with us, you agree to these terms.

Our Services

Curtis Mateus Brazilian Jiu Jitsu offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instruction, including:

  • Free introductory classes

  • Trial memberships

  • Monthly memberships

  • Youth programs

Class schedules, pricing, and program details may change. We will always honor the terms you signed up under.

Trial Classes

  • Your first class is free.

  • We also offer a two-week trial membership for $29.99.

  • Trial memberships are for new students only — one trial per person.

  • Trials must be used within the trial period and cannot be paused or extended.

Memberships and Payments

  • Monthly memberships are billed on a recurring basis.

  • Memberships are managed through our membership platform. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider.

  • You are responsible for keeping your payment information up to date.

  • Failed payments may result in your membership being paused until the balance is resolved.

Cancelations

  • You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting us at info@curtismateusbjj.com.

  • Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not prorate partial months.

  • Trial memberships do not auto-convert — when your trial ends, nothing further is charged unless you sign up for a membership.

Health, Safety, and Assumption of Risk

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a contact sport. By training with us, you understand and accept that:

  • There is an inherent risk of injury, including bruises, sprains, and more serious injuries.

  • You are responsible for training within your limits and telling an instructor about any health conditions or injuries before class.

  • You should consult a doctor before starting if you have any health concerns.

  • We maintain a safe training environment, but we cannot eliminate all risk.

All students (or a parent or guardian for minors) must sign a waiver before training.

Gym Rules and Conduct

To keep the gym safe and respectful for everyone:

  • Follow instructor directions at all times.

  • Keep your gi and gear clean. Trim your nails.

  • No shoes on the mats.

  • Tap early and respect your training partners.

  • We have zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, or dangerous behavior. We may revoke your membership for violations, without refund.

Youth Students

  • Students under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign all waivers and agreements.

  • Parents or guardians are responsible for drop-off and pickup.

Text Messages and Communications

By providing your mobile number and checking the SMS opt-in box, you agree to receive marketing and promotional text messages from Curtis Mateus Brazilian Jiu Jitsu about special offers, class promotions, and gym updates.
